Fired at Fifty: Stop Looking for Work And Discover What You Were Meant To Do

by Christine Till

About the Book

Twenty years ago, a book about being fired after one reaches a certain age would be a ridiculous and irrelevant idea, but today, it is a resource that is badly needed. There is much talk these days about how hard it is to find a job as a fresh post-secondary graduate, but life is hard on the other end of the spectrum too. Finding a job in one’s 50’s can be just as hard, if not harder, than finding a job in one’s 20’s. Christine provides invaluable tools in this book to help those fired at fifty to stop looking for work and discover how their valuable life skills can be turned into a business.

“I highly recommend Fired at Fifty as a handbook for those of us Seniors who feel worried, even fearful, and are looking for practical advice and guidance from someone who has earned the right and who really cares about her readers and clients.”
— Robin J. Elliott (www.LeverageAdvantage.com)

“Christine’s book awakens us to realize that we must remember how truly great we are. As we lead ourselves from the heart, we open up to receiving the greatest love imaginable.”
— Betska K-Burr, Exectuve Master Coach, Best-Selling Author

“I’ve heard it said that ‘breakdowns lead to breakthroughs’ and Christine Till has offered ‘Fired at Fifty’ as more than ample evidence. She’s honest, passionate and engaging with her message.”
— Qin Al De (amazon.ca review)

About the Author

On January 4th, 2011, Christine Till found herself “fired” at 50+. As she lived through this experience, Christine discovered that she could not be a “lone wolf.” She needed to ask for help. Christine also discovered that she needed to draw on her strengths. She gathered together everything in her “toolbox” and put them to work. Christine collaborated with business and life coaches, and networking groups, and found her purpose as “The Marketing Mentress.”

Born in Alberta, Canada, Christine is happily married and now living in Vancouver, BC. She has raised 4 children who are successful in their own lives. She had a fulfilling career of over twenty years in traditional sales and marketing.

Beyond marketing and new media, Christine’s passions include health and nutrition, teaching, and music. She embraces and harnesses these things to make a positive difference in her community by doing things like singing at retirement homes. Because of her experience being bullied when she was in school, Christine strives to treat everyone the way she wants to be treated and does her best to be mindful of everyone’s feelings.

Christine Till is a member of many business networks around the lower mainland who attends meetings regularly. She is a regular speaker with Thinkreferrals Business Network and the Fraser Valley Social Media Group. She also runs her own social media seminars and hosts a podcasting series called “Practical Podcasting”.
